The text’s aim is to show the development that liturgical science has had mainly in Italy. The liturgical experience emerged as an “original” moment of fulfilling faith and as an “original” phenomenon for the ritual mediation in which this happens. In ritual action, theological and anthropological dimensions are bonded together. This epistemological awareness opens up new paths of study that can be oriented in the direction of practical theology, fundamental theology and liturgical systematics.
