According to the bishop Eusebius of Caesarea, the profession of faith established at Nicaea probably derives from a baptismal liturgy of his community. Rather than affirming a dogmatic truth about the nature of God, it reaffirms the priority of baptismal practice over any speculative discussion, because it is rooted in the words of the Risen Jesus to the disciples for the mission (Mt 28:19) and it is well attested by the ancient testimony of the Didache (7:1‑3). All of this help to celebrate the anniversary of Nicaea by rediscovering the baptismal root of Christian life.
