The comparison with the Christmas sermons of Saint Leo the Great accredits its literary authorship, emphasizing a greater affinity with those of 442‑443. In addition to insisting on the Christological doctrine relating to the Council of Chalcedon, the sacrificial and redemptive meaning of Christmas is emphasized, especially in the super oblata and the vere dignum, always from a pascal perspective.
