Abstract
In early July 2025, the Dicastery for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments promulgated a Mass formulary, Pro custodia creationis, complete with a euchology and lectionary. This will enrich the Missale Romanum in the section Pro variis necessitatibus. An examination of the texts highlights the biblical, patristic, and magisterial foundation, identifying liturgical congruence and celebratory content. The protection and care of creation responds to a primordial human vocation, is renewed in the grace of Easter/baptism, is the fruit of docility to the Holy Spirit, and finds its orientation in the same eschatological tension. In the liturgical celebration, the disciple of Jesus rediscovers and relearns a harmonious way of relating to all creatures.
