Abstract

The brief essay on the transfer of Holy Days of Obligation traces the course by which the relevant legislation and liturgical custom was formed, with particular regard to the Feast of Saint Joseph, both in the period before the 1917 Code of Canon Law and in the period after, with the intention of clarifying certain concepts that may still shed light on the pastoral issues arising in similar cases.
